DAYS ANNOUNCES 2010 AMBASSADOR
Green County Cheese Days is pleased to announce that Trisha
Pernot has been selected to serve as the ambassador for the
2010 festival.
Ms. Pernot, the daughter of Robert and Monika Pernot, is a
native of New Glarus. Her grandparents are Karl and Kaye Gmur,
and Willis and Lennys Luchsinger. She graduated from New Glarus
High School in 2005, where she was involved in student council,
FFA, FCCLA, and various sports activities. She also served
as the 2003-2004 New Glarus Dairy Queen and has co-chaired
the New Glarus Dairy Queen program along with her mother since
2006. She is currently employed at Kindercare Learning Center
in Madison.
Ms. Pernot credits her background as a dairy queen as a life-changing
experience. Prior to being involved in that position of promoting
agriculture with the Green County Ag Chest, she never liked
getting up in front of crowds. With her quiet personality
and lack of a farming background, she surprised even her own
mother when she beat out two farm girls for the honor.
As Green County Cheese Days ambassador, Ms. Pernot will make
many in appearances in front of groups to promote the event,
and will serve as spokesperson for the festival in radio and
television commercials.
Ms. Pernot officially began her ambassador duties when she
was crowned by the 2008 ambassador Charity Rood during Swiss
Fest, which was hosted by the Monroe Swiss Singers at Turner
Hall of Monroe on Sunday, November 1.
