Cheese Days Hospitality Tent
Presented by The Swiss Colony
Welcome to the Hospitality
Tent - open all weekend with seating and tables set up so you can
enjoy your favorite festival foods. There's live music on Friday
and Saturday nights, and activities on the stage on Saturday.
If you see someone wiping off tables and cleaning up trash, that's
one of our fabulous volunteers. Please thank them if you have a
chance.

who serve as ambassadors with the Green
County Ag Chest. (4:15 pm)

and John Ivanko of the award-winning Inn
Serendipity Bed and Breakfast and co-authors of Edible Earth,
Rural Renaissance and ECOpreneuring, for fresh approaches to savoring
your garden’s abundance and creating homemade pantry staples.
Learn how to prepare savory zucchini pancakes local Feta cheese.

THE GOLD FILES – a song and “dance” celebrating
the colorful history of cheesemaking in Green County with a skit
created last year for the historical musical, “Gold Files”,
in honor of Monroe’s 150th anniversary. “Cheesemaker”
troupe members: John Baumann, Hans Bernet, George Breadon, Kurt
Kline, Chris Sachs, Craig Tuttle, Troy Whiteman. (6 pm)

* Lisa Kivirist and John Ivanko operate the award-winning
Inn Serendipity Bed and Breakfast from their farm outside Monroe,
Wisconsin, completely powered by renewable energy and considered
one of the “Top 10 Eco-Destinations in North America.”
Their culinary focus on organic, local, seasonal and vegetarian
cuisine earned recognition in publications from Vegetarian Times
to Country Woman and inspired their cookbook, Edible Earth.
A distinguished Kellogg Food & Society Policy Fellow, Kivirist’s
work showcases the story and economic vitality of female farmers
and rural women entrepreneurs. Kivirist is co-author, with her husband,
John Ivanko, of the award-winning book, ECOpreneuring, as well as
Rural Renaissance and Edible Earth – all of which showcase
Green County’s heritage. In addition to directing the MOSES
Rural Women’s Project, Kivirist writes a column spotlighting
national policy issues for the Women, Food & Agriculture Network
(WFAN) and also writes for publications such as Hobby Farm Home
and is a lead writer for the Renewing the Countryside: WISCONSIN
